(DALLAS) March 14, 2012 – The newest Sweet Tomatoes, located at 5500 Greenville Ave., in the Dallas Old Town Shopping Center, is scheduled to open on Monday, April 2. To celebrate the grand opening, Sweet Tomatoes has partnered with the North Texas Food Bank by hosting a preview fundraiser event on the following dates:

Sweet Tomatoes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to the North Texas Food Bank, a nonprofit social benefit organization that distributes donated, purchased and prepared foods through a network 300 Member Agencies and 1,000 feeding programs in 13 North Texas counties. NTFB supports the nutritional needs of children, families and seniors through research, education, advocacy and strategic partnerships.
The new Dallas Old Town location will be the fifth location in the Dallas region and will accommodate 160 guests. Sweet Tomatoes offers a rotating menu of more than 100 original, made fresh daily recipes featuring signature salads, soups, bakery goods and hot pasta sauces, at an all-you-care-to-eat price. All food is prepared without the use of artificial flavors, colors, additives or artificial trans fats. A different food theme is featured each month and the most popular menu items are rotated every two weeks.
“The North Texas Food Bank salutes Sweet Tomatoes for helping address the issue of food insecurity in North Texas,” said Jan Pruitt, president and CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “Their extremely generous donation will help us provide nutritious meals to hungry children, families and seniors in our area.”
Sweet Tomatoes seeks to be a vital and contributing part of each community in which it operates. To reach this goal, restaurants offer a “Fun-Raiser” program through which charities, churches, schools, athletic teams, scout troops and other non-profit organizations may raise funds by hosting in-store events. The restaurants assist in marketing the non-profit’s event by creating master flyers for distribution and promotion.
