A Look Into Sweet Tomatoes & Souplantation
First off, we want to thank you for reading our blog. Everything we do at our restaurants is to serve our guests and without you, we wouldn’t exist.
With 112 restaurants in 15 states, over 300 million guests since 1978 have helped us to be #1 in fresh produce and salads, made-from-scratch soups, hot-tossed pastas, freshly baked breads and muffins, fresh fruit, frozen yogurt, and more.
Each month we look forward to showcasing the history of our Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants by letting your local managers show you what’s in their kitchen. We’ll start with our first location and work our way through upcoming locations we have opening in 2010.
Additionally, CEO Michael Mack and presidents of the company will be blogging to give you their perspectives on the vision of the brand as we move into a new decade.
I love going to Sweet Tomatoes. Do you have any plans of opening a store in Utah County Utah? Would love to have one closer to home.
I thought there would be a general announcement of the crEATe contest winner a week ago but just saw the announcement on this blog page which not everyone sees. Wasn’t it going to be announced on your home page with the winner featured at the restaurants? My husband was in the contest and he didn’t win but I thought you would publicize and feature the winner in general. It would be nice for them and your general readers.
I’ve have been emailing you for three years hoping to get a Sweet Tomatoes here in Evans Ga. We moved to GA from Southern California and have really missed our Soup Plantation. We occasionally drive to Atlanta which is a five hour drive to eat at Sweet Tomatoes. Please open your restaurant here. We need you!!!
When is the Souplanation in Encinitas CA going to open?
Have enjoyed Sweet Tomatoes for a number of winters in Florida, but do not understand how you have missed the huge market on Long Island, NY. Do you have any plans to expand in that area?
I am wondering if you have any plans to open in Nashville, TN? i no longer live in Rancho Bernardo and Atlanta is too far to drive. I miss your great food!
We definitely need one here. Moved from CA and went at least once every couple weeks.
YES! We need one here in Nashville. I moved here from Atlanta and have been CRAVING it so much!
I also agree that we need one here in Nashville! How many more people do we need to beg for one in Nashville before the cave in and give us one?
I am a fan of Souplantation for the past 8 years, since I came to California. This is the favorite place for my family for lunch or dinner. I am a vegetarian and I loved the soups (though few in number) and the spread of choices on the table. We like the ambience (in Carmel Valley, San Diego) and the helpful staff.
Alas, we would be missing all these in a couple of weeks as we are moving to Seattle, WA. Can anyone suggest a comparable place in the Seattle area?
We are planning to have a couple of farewell meals at our favourite restaurant before we pack our bags.
I’m also moving to Seattle from Atlanta and I need to know if there are similar restaurants in Seattle??
I moved from San Diego to Seattle in 1997. There is nothing evenly remotely close to Souplanatation/Sweet Tomatoes in this area — very surprising given the volume of vegetarians and the healthy lifestyles.
Best suggestion I have is to plan a day trip to Vancouver, WA or Portland, OR — it’s not ideal and you can’t get your regular “fix” but it does make the visit that much sweeter.
Please, please, please open up some Sweet Tomatoes in the Philadelphia, PA / Washington, DC areas. It’s my favorite restaurant, and the only chance I get to eat there now is when I go to Florida.
Usually once a year, we venture to Florida to visit relatives. One destination is this always on the itinerary is Sweet Tomatoes. We reside in Indiana and have no restaurants in our area. We are currently in Ft. Myers and can hardly wait until we can pay you a visit!!!
I grew up with Sweet Tomatoes in CA…loved it so much! Now living in Nashville, I was wondering if there will ever be one in the area? It would definitely be a hit for our city!
Agreed! Please come to Nashville!
Good day! This was a really exceptional theme!
I come from itlay, I was luck to search your subject in yahoo
Also I get much in your theme really thank your very much i will come daily
I live in Leesburg, Florida and I have heard that you are in the process of building one of you Sweet tomato Restaurants near the Villages, possibly in Fruitland Park or Lady Llake and I am wondering if that is true and if so what is the time line on that. That location would have a potential of around 200,000 or more residents in a 3 county area.
Thanks for your comments
It is true!!! A Sweet Tomatoes is scheduled to open in April / May 2011 in Lady Lake! Stay tuned for more information
Please open a location in the Seattle area! We have nothing comparable to Soupplantation/Sweet Tomatoes other than Zoopa which is nothing to rave about.
Agreed!
I also agree!
Seattle needs Souplantation!
PLEASE open a Sweet Tomatoes in Seattle/Tacoma. We moved here from Tampa and cannot believe there is not one here. Soooo Hungry for soup and salad and pasta and dessert
We were a regular vistor of sweet tomatoes at tampa. I am a vegetarian and this is the only place where my family really enjoyed food, felt healthy and so loved to visit it as often as we can. I moved to Philly recently and my family is really missing this place. We looked at the location and could not find anything near to where we live. It would be really great if we have sweet tomatoes opened at Philadelphia.
It is just absolutely ridiculous that there is no Sweet Tomatoes/Souplantation in Seattle. Such a travesty there are so many junk food restaurants but no decent healthy option. WA will become as fat as Mississippi, unless ST can open one up here.
