Sweet Tomatoes Grand Opening in Bradenton, FL

(BRADENTON, FL) The newest Sweet Tomatoes, located at 5407 University, is scheduled to open on Monday, July 12. To celebrate the grand opening, Sweet Tomatoes has partnered with the American Cancer Society, Bradenton Chapter, by hosting a preview fundraiser event on the following dates:

  • Friday, July 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, July 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

For only five dollars, guests can enjoy Sweet Tomatoes’ 45-foot salad bar full of fresh, seasonal vegetables and tossed salads, made-from-scratch soups and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads and desserts. Sweet Tomatoes will donate 100 percent of the proceeds to American Cancer Society, a voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

The new Bradenton location will offer a rotating menu of more than 100 original, made fresh daily recipes featuring signature salads, soups, bakery goods and hot pasta sauces, at an all-you-care-to-eat price.  All food is prepared without the use of artificial flavors, colors, additives or artificial trans fats.  A different food theme is featured each month and the most popular menu items are rotated every two weeks.  Items are showcased on a 45-foot salad bar and prepared exhibition style every 20 minutes.

“We’re thrilled to be the beneficiary of the new grand opening. Sweet Tomatoes is a great fit for the American Cancer Society. The fresh salads and healthy fare offered there fit well with the healthy lifestyle we aim to promote. In addition, Sweet Tomatoes offers such a great variety they can accommodate the many diet restrictions people undergoing cancer treatments have,” said Judy Athari, American Cancer Society. Money raised at this event, like all Relay For Life events, will go to provide direct patient support services in our local area and throughout Florida.”

Sweet Tomatoes seeks to be a vital and contributing part of each community in which it operates. To reach this goal, restaurants offer a “Fun-Raiser” program through which charities, churches, schools, athletic teams, scout troops and other non-profit organizations may raise funds by hosting in-store events. The restaurants assist in marketing the non-profit’s event by creating master flyers for distribution and promotion.

Sweet Tomatoes in Bradenton will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on weekdays, 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. on Saturday and 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.  For more information call (941) 359-0110 or visit www.www.sweettomatoes.com. 1. Tracy, it was my pleasure to eat at the new Bradenton restaurant last night during your fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. My friends and I had a great meal and really enjoyed ourselves–and all for a good cause! Ironically, even as we ate, my sister, who lives in CA, was undergoing surgery for breast cancer. Thankfully, she did well through the surgery and expects to make a complete recovery following radiation treatments.

Thank you again for your involvement with the American Cancer Society. What a great partnership for them and for you! My friends and I will be regular customers. It will be so nice to have a Sweet Tomatoes closer to home.

    God bless,
    Mary

  2. THANK YOU! What a great way to pre-open a store. The FOOD was GREAT and FRESH. The staff was PROFESSION, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL,and PLESANT. The lay-out is wonderful. Thanks for an enjoyable experience! We have driven to Sarasota for years (about twice a month)…now we can go the Sweet Tomatoes in our own city!!!Thank you for all your hard work and thank you for bringing this goodness to Bradenton! See ya soon!

      1. Had dinner at University site last nite. Very disappointed. No pasta amoungst other items. We love the Sarasota site much much better.

        1. We also ate at the University store last night. Everything was as good as the Landings and the staff could not have been more helpful and great. Food was very good. As for pasta….There was Mac & Cheese on the bar as well as an oriental pasta with veggies and pineapple. Lois must have missed it…..and it was yummy!
Love the new location and it is 5 minutes away from home….

  3. Sweet Tomatoes is very good. I would like a moderate size salad and a piece of bread for lunch weekdays. My budget per day is not more than about $6.50. Based on the ST price structure I cannot afford to lunch at ST. Too bad they don’t have a smaller portion price structure. That way I would be a customer most weekdays. Spending $50 a week for lunch is a bit much. McDonald’s is an option considering their SW Salad, but it’s a little farther away from my office. Can you work on this issue?

  4. We lunched at SW on University during the Grand Opening which was for a great cause. We also have been going to the Sarasota location for many years. My dilemma is that I am allergic to eggs and anything dairy as well as peanuts. I look for Vegan items; however, I did not see anything on the Breakfast menu. Is it due to the fact that all breakfast items contain dairy (both milk sugar and milk protein) eggs are pretty much self explanatory? My husband also commented on the fewer pasta items at the University location. It was an enjoyable experience and we look forward to visiting a location much closer to home.

  5. Have eaten at a great sweet tomatoes in tucson, az so was happy to find this one on our trip to fl. What a huge disappointment. There was nothing good about our visit. The salad bar was such a mess we couldn’t believe it. We were made to wait behind some wanting a table for 6 while parties on the other side of the bar were being seated immediately. The staff was so disorganized and the place was such a dirty mess. I will say part of our experience was the rude, unmannered people eating their way through the line and generally acting like wolves. Never could get anyone to clear our table or bring us cookies. Wanted to tell the mgr. but she was such a slob, it was easy to see why the store looked like it did. There was one girl at the front trying to find some sort of organization, but was basically surrounded by inept workers. The baked potatoes were so cold the butter wouldn’t even melt. Really sorry we wasted our time. Won’t be back here!

    1. Beth,
We are sorry to hear this, were you dining at the Bradenton location? If so, can you tell us what day and time you were dining at? We would like to bring this to the attention of the manager.
