I am a vegan. Your store assumes vegetarian means it’s okay to eat cheese, and lots of the vegetarian breads, meals, etc., have cheese. For me, I need vegan, which means no cheese. The Thai Soups with the gluten free noodles sound great! ( I looked on your menu for the week of 12/6/13.) Quinoa dishes would be great. Cranberry sauce with orange and walnuts is a great recipe, sold in Whole Foods stores, and is a great favorite. Your breads sound great. Can you make a gluten-free, dairy-free bread? Also, the soups look good. The salads are fantastic. Can you use dairy-free cheese? The store called Trader Joe’s sells this non-daily cheese. I shop and go to your restaurant in the suburb of Ahwatukee in Phoenix, AZ. Only one problem: watch your cleanliness, there (I have seen some items left to sit at the wrong temp) and also please clean the tables promptly. I have only been offered a fresh cookie 2 x out of all of the visits I have had to this restaurant. Please offer everyone a cookie. It’s not the cookie, it’s the kindness and the hominess you feel with someone greeting you with kindness. Also, please make the takeout more extensive. I don’t eat tuna. Please include more vegan items in the takeout. Thanks for listening.
Thank you for your feedback, Nancy. We are always trying to improve our operations to meet our guests’ needs and appreciate your input.
Our favorite restaurant. We go to the Schaumburg Il location more than once a month. We’re fans of ‘garbage’ salads where we can mix so many fresh ingredients. We very much enjoy the soups too.
One thing I miss, that used to be offered — Jicama. I’d sure like to see that again. I know, they’re a lot of work to peel so I suspect the labor to prepare this might have been too much.
Thank you for the feedback!
Can you tell me what’s in the ginger broth that would not make it vegan? Is there milk in the soup base, somehow? Same goes for the minestrone … does it have cheese?
Thank you,
Regina
P.S. — Thanks for putting this information out there … it’s always good to know in advance what you can have without having to hunt someone down to ask.
Hi Regina, yes, the base we use for this soup contains milk.
question, why would the Asian Ginger Broth be milk base? it makes no sense for either of those soups to have milk.
please try to carry more vegan / gluten free breads in the san diego souplantations.
Do you have your sweet potato/apple/walnut dish this season? It was awesome last year! I would like it for the month of November & December, maybe even January. I live in So. Calif.
Re sweet potato/apple/walnut dish from Dec. 2013: Strange, the “Admin” hasn’t given me an answer yet… If they’re not going to serve this dish, they can the recipe for it be posted? That would be nice !
sorry, meant to say… “then can the recipe be posted”…
boy, my eyes and brain aren’t working!!!!!! Another typo… December 2012 !!! That’s all for tonight !!! funny thing is… I get paid for proofreading… lol
Hi Billie – that was December 12th for the time period, not 2012 🙂
Hi Billie – We won’t be serving that dish in December, we will pass along to our Culinary Team that people would enjoy the recipe!
Still nothing on this dish (sweet potato/apple/walnut)… sure would like a recipe if you’re NOT going to serve it anymore. Several years ago a Smores type dessert was served, only had it once, and it was never back again. It was delish ! Do you have that recipe????? When something is good and not served, please post why and if the recipe can be obtained. thanks
Hi Billie – we are so sorry your favorite dishes weren’t featured this year. However, we don’t typically give out all of our recipes. Our Culinary Team, however, does occasionally like to share some of their favorite items so keep an eye out.
Just found this info. I am vegan and can’t wait to see the January update! thans!
Great! Our January update will be available soon 🙂

Love the gluten free coconut muffins. Could you give the recipe for it, please, please!!! Also, can you bring back the clam chowder all the time, it is the best soup you have. Thank you from West Palm Beach, FL.
We may keep our muffin recipe a secret for a little longer (we want you to visit us again 😉 )! Keep checking the menu for our Clam Chowder, it will return.
Hi! I live in SLC and recently discovered the Pear Champagne Vinaigrette at your Midvale location… I was wondering if it was just a promotional thing – or if it will be offered full-time? I can’t seem to find the nutritional info, either… Thanks for any info!
Are the coconut muffins vegan or contain dairy? It’s mentioned that they’re made with coconut milk so I’m hoping they are vegan as well as gluten free?! I recently found this monthly blog post. It makes me excited to know that I can find more things to eat at your restaurants ahead of time. Keep up the good work! Also, I’d love to see a vegan bread option as well as dessert at the Salt Lake City locations!
Hi Lindsay – Our gluten-free muffin is not vegan, but we have other vegan options – stay tuned for January’s post!
Are the coconut muffins made with sugar? If so, can you please advise how much? I’m supposed to be on a no-low sugar diet so was wondering. Thank you!
Hi Jennifer – Our muffins are sweetened with coconut milk 🙂
Please consider keeping the coconut gluten free muffins as an everyday item. They are the absolute best of any of your muffins and some of those are there all of the time. Change may be good, but when something is perfect please don’t change it.
Ever since everyone else noticed how great these muffins are, we have to wait for a very long time (about 1 hour longer than usual), because they are immediately gone once they come out of the oven. It’s hard to watch the muffin station from all of the tables in the room. We had to extend our stay in order to get 2 muffins, which were brought to us by the manager.
We love, love, love the coconut gluten muffins and the New England Clam Chowder!
Sincerely,
Debbe Graves
The gluten free coconut muffins are so delicious, I just picked up a dozen to go in the pouring rain! Heavenly!

Thank you, Debbie!
For your Sugar-Free Chocolate Mousse, what is the ingredients listing that replaces the sugar? Also the vegetarian/ vegan options for soups, those need to increase as well as have some more flavor added! I had the split pea and potato with barley soup last night, and it was insanely bland, with a hint of dirt flavor. Would you be able to bring some more vegetarian/vegan options that are tasty to your Santa Clarita location?
Hi Heather – We are so sorry you didn’t like the soups you tried last night. As we continually rotate our menu offerings, we hope you’ll see something you’ll enjoy better soon.
