  1. The first time i ever took my father to soup plantation he didn’t know what most of the things were but he did know they were healthy!:D What my father did was unforgettable he actually got one plate and topped it off with everything they had in the salad bar! i mean everything like 3 different salads in one plate and all sorts of veggies with pastas!!! My dad actually though we were only allowed to serve ourselves salad once so he though why not put all u can in your plate to try every single thing from the menu and save $!! it was hilarious because he didn’t know and once we told him he was like ohhhhhh well lets go for a better combination of flavors the next time!!:D

  2. My father and I have extremely similar personalities, and unfortunately heart disease runs in the family. I almost lost my father in 1997 when he had emergency open bypass surgery, thankfully before he experienced any major heart attacks. Since that day, my family, especially my father and I, have maintained a healthy diet and Sweet Tomatoes definitely helps us continue this lifestyle. The variety of different items on the salad bar, as well as the pre-made salad bar pretty much fill us up right from the start. We both are “crunch” tasters, if you know what I mean. We are more satisfied with foods that have a crunch to them, so adding sunflower seeds, or chow mein noodles onto our salad is pretty frequent. We also both love dessert, so the frozen yogurt machine is our best friend! Who knew healthy foods could be so satisfying and fulfilling.

  3. my family & I love getting together at Souplantation! When my father got out of the hospital we went there to indulge in some albondiga soup. We reached the soup section & the albondiga soup was all gone.:I had been bragging about it for days. The manager apologetically explained that their shipment was shorted. It just gave us a reason to go back the next day. My Mexican father loved the soup & had 5 bowls along with his customary dozen blueberry muffins. When I think of good times with my father & family…I think of Souplantion!

    1. Nena – we have Albondigas soup this week! We have Albondigas soup until June 29. be sure to come in and enjoy Albondigas soup!!

  4. Everytime we go to sweet tomatoes my dad likes to get two plates of food and then he’s done. I don’t think he likes it that much because he doesn’t like veggies that much. But my
Mom and I love the fresh veggies, yummy salads and great bakery items you guys have! We try to take my dad there often, so he can improve his colon health! And get some vitamins too! 🙂

  5. About 20 years ago when I was 8, I was walking home from school and my dad pulled up to the side of the road and told me to get in. This was extremely unusual and my Dad refused to answer any of my questions about what was going on or where we were going. He drove right to an arcade and just said, “Today’s your day, let’s do whatever you want”.

Nobody was there, we had the run of the place, and I got to do everything that an 8 year old could possibly imagine, in an empty arcade, with my Dad. I have never forgotten that.

If I win these coupons to Souplantation, I might just do the exact same thing to him on Sunday. Pick him up, not tell him where we’re going, drive to Souplantation for breakfast and tell him, “Today’s your day, eat whatever you want.”

  6. Everytime we go to sweet tomatoes,my grandpa gets the same thing and itis so funny.first he gets a salad piled high, then he gets soup and a roll, then more soup.afterwards he helps my grandmother eat her dessert. I do love going there with them

  7. My fav memory of me and my Dad was our fishing outings! We did an annual whole day fishing trip to the Salten Sea when I was a kid. We never caught too many fishes (except one year) but what we got to do is talk & bond.

  8. My first memories of Souplantation were in High School where we would all visit with our friends since it had a little something for everyone. My dad isn’t too into healthy eating but now that I’m married and have a family of my own, eating healthy is our #1 priority. My husband and I take our daughter there whenever we want to go out to eat. My husband is the most concerned about our health, so Souplanation is always his first choice. He always makes a huge salad for himself with a little of the prepared salads on the side and he always gets a bowl of chili. We opt for the pudding (Tapioca is our fav!) rather than the frozen yogurt and my daughter loves the mac n’ cheese. With so many options, everyone walks away happy and satisfied!!

    1. Side note: My father’s dinner option tonight for Father’s Day??? SOUPLANTATION! Apparently, I don’t know my father nearly enough and he’s into healthy eating!! Hoping I win guest passes so I can take my dad and get to know him better over a huge yummy salad at Souplantation 🙂

  9. When I was a kid, every monday and friday My father and I would go to souplantation. I could never get any of the pizza bread until I ate all my salad. I wasn’t allowed to get a lil baby salad; there had to be alot of greens on it. He wanted me to grow up nice and healthy so by going to souplantation I was able to! Recently we have started our tradition up again. Even though I am not a little kid any more, I still eat all my salad before I get any bread. We also get clam chowder and put cheese on it and just talk about the old days! That never ever gets old 🙂

  10. The last time I was at Sweet Tomatoes with my Father was actually quite recently. Probably the second time I was there in that month. I’ve started a tradition of eating at here at least two times a month at any location in South Florida. This particular day with my father at Sweet Tomatoes literally turned into a 3 hour dinner talking the night away and eating all the delicious food they always have to offer. Hopefully this Father’s Day will be another great experience at this wonderful restaurant!

  11. MY FAVORITE MEMORIES WITH MY DAD IS THAT HE HAD A SAILBOAT, WE WOULD GO SAILING AND COULD SIT ALL DAY CHATTING ABOUT LIFE AND MY FUTURE. DAD PASSED AWAY 20 YEARS AGO AND I MISS CHATTING WITH HIM, JUST DAD AND ME. 15 YEARS AGO, I ADOPTED A BABY, NAMED HIM AFTER MY DAD. HE WOULD HAVE LOVED MY SON AND THE WAY HE COULD EAT PIZZA AND PLAIN NOODLES AT SWEET TOMATOES. MY DAD WOULD HAVE BEEN PROUD OF THE MOMMY I TURNED OUT TO BE.
MY SON REMINDS ME OF MY DAD, NOW WE SIT AND TALK ABOUT LIFE AND HIS FUTURE.
DAD, WHERE EVER YOU ARE, I LOVE AND MISS YOU!

  12. I am so lucky to have a Wonderful Father I have so many fond memories. But the one that sticks out the most. Is a year ago my dad picked me up from the aiport and we went to breakfast at a local cafe and while eating breakfast we talked and laughed but he seemed a bit sad. He glanced over and there was a older man most likely in his 80-90’s with shaking hands eating his eggs. My dad had compassion in his heart and bought breakfast for the older gentleman. My dad is very sensitive and very blessed. I will never forget my Dad’s compassion for others.

  13. My dad first went to souplatation when I worked there 20 years ago! My parents both loved to come in when I was working.

  14. DAD, YOU WERE THE BEST!
ROBERT YOU ARE THE LOVE IN MY LIFE AND REMIND ME OF GRANDPA LARRY WITH THINGS YOU SAY AND DO, EVEN THOUGH YOU NEVER MET YOUR GRANDPA!!!

  15. All my family loves Sweet Tomatoes! My father and mother don’t have a Sweet Tomatoes very close to their home. They have to drive an hour and half to one. So they don’t go very often. So, everytime they come to visit us we take them to Sweet Tomatoes and when they visit my sister in Arizona she takes them also. When we are all together we have to go to Sweet Tomatoes. When we go we all eat are salads first, then go for soup and bread, next pasta and then finally dessert.

  16. My 4 year old son and I LOVE Sweet Tomatoes. You just opened one down the street from our house and we are there weekly! I can’t wait till my Dad comes to visit (He lives in PA) and we can take him there. In the meantime, my son couldnt wait to take Daddy there to try it out! Daddy wasnt sure he would like it as much as we do. Sometimes I think that people think you are just a “Salad Bar” and really you are so much more than that! Well Daddy loved it just as much as us! Of course he was filling up 2 plates down the Salad Bar and going back for up to test out all the soups! We look forward to many more family dinners at Sweet Tomatoes in the future!

  17. Unfortunately there was no Sweet Tomatoes close when I was growing up, but one of my most fond memories of my dad is when he pulled up in the car next to my mother and i after a school awards ceremony and passed flowers to me as a congratulations.

  18. The first time I took my father to Souplantation was during Ramadan, the fasting month for Muslims. We had not eaten anything all day, and I was anxiously waiting in line to fill the tray up with my favorite salad combination, gooey pizza, and buttery mac and cheese. My dad zig-zagged through every station, and when we met back at the table the first thing out of his mouth was, “Where’s the meat?!” I couldn’t help but laugh–typical Arab dad and their obsession with red meat! I replied that there were plenty of other protein options at the salad bar that were filling and healthy at the same time. I think the open frozen yogurt and toppings bar sealed the deal in the end. Now we always run into at least two or three other Muslim families breaking their fast at our local Souplantation during Ramadan!

  19. As a child we used to go to sweet tomatoes on a regular basis. My dad really doesn’t like spending a lot of money when going out to eat so the family coupons and buy one get one coupons we used to get was great. It also meant he could as much as he wanted, which always made him plenty happy. Now that all 4 of his kids, me included, are adults, we don’t go as often considering we are spread out all over the country, and one of us is in Canada. However, when we are all in town Sweet tomatoes is always on the top of our list! Hope you pick us!

  20. I remember taking my Dad to Soupplantation. I told him – be sure to try the Oriental Chicken Salad… He said “That’s not my cup of tea”. Then he proceeded to eat almost all of mine off my plate. Now he gets his own.

  21. My father surprised me by taking me to souplantation recently– it’s great since I’m a vegetarian and he’s not– great for a compromise. We had a great lunch. Thank you Souplantation.

  22. i never got a chance to go with my dad to Souplantation since he passed away before I discovered it, but I know he would have loved it. The father that I did get to introduce Souplantation to is my husband & baby daddy. At first he had preconceived notions that it would just be a bunch of non-filling lettuce & boring food, but now he admits he loves it and even craves it! Our goal is to maintain a healthy lifestyle for our family and to teach our daughter (4 months) about healthy eating and introduce her to a variety of vegetables and fruits from a young age. Souplantation will help us to do that since it gives each person the freedom to choose and experiment trying new foods that they may not ordinarily eat. We absolutely LOVE Souplantation and eat there at least once a week!

  23. Wonderful memories of my dad and I working on cars together…we would buy classic cars
and fix them up… I miss him alot..wish he was still here so we could go to lunch… enjoy and
love your fathers while they are here..I lost mine way too soon.
    We LOVE Sweet Tomatoes!

  24. Honestly my dad loved souplantation so much that it has been a family tradition for every Friday night ever since I can remember. I am 24 now, and looking back on memories with my grandpa and dad, all in one person, anything with him was the best! He brighten my day with just a smile. Sometimes I go into souplantaion just to be reminded of all the good times we had as a family there year after year. Because of him I always get two plates going down the salad… Ice cream and wait to chat with cookie lady. Good times!
It has been four years now that hes is not with us. He is deeply missed. In my heart you will always be Papi lindo. I love you 😀 thanks for the beautiful memories.

  25. My dad does not like “raw” veggies. Ever since I remember, I’ve never seen him ordering salad at any restaurant. BUT when he visited me a few years ago, my husband and I took my parents to Sweet Tomatoes. I told my dad not to worry because they have baked potatoes, pasta dishes, soups, different kinds of muffins and breads. To my surprise, before he even go to the soups and all the other stuff, he picked two of the prepared salads, and topped with all sorts of toppings. I said, “Wow, dad, I’ve never seen you choosing salad”. He smiled and replied, “All of these vegetables look good, and I can see how fresh and clean they are. Eye appeal is buy appea!”. My dad became a big Sweet Tomatoes fan. Unfortunately, there is no Sweet Tomatoes where he lives, thus, each time he visits us, he asked us to take him to Sweet Tomatoes. My mom also likes the fact that my dad eats fresh items at Sweet Tomatoes. Dining experience at Sweet Tomatoes makes all of my family happy and satisfied. Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there! 😉

  26. My favorite Soupplantation memory with my dad was when he visited over Easter and we had brunch with my kids. I love the way he loves on my young kiddos and the bonus is that I can keep going back for food again and again without m infant or toddler in tow. Thank God for great dads who grow into awesome grandpas!

  27. Well souplantation has always been our favorite. It was always that healthy feeling right after we leave the place that brings us back every time. Probably my most favorite memory was the day we decided to build and repair a beaten up car, specifically my first car. At that age, I knew almost nothing about it, watching and spending time, it took days to build and finally finish the car. But through each of those long and tiring process, we would end each session with a souplantation meal! We would walk across the street and souplantation was right there; it was like it was calling to us at each break. So we would do the work in the car, mostly my dad and I just took mental notes, we would walk into our driveway to have a bottle of water, and looking to see what other people are doing and bam! a souplantation to the at right of us each time. We were a corner house and a marketplace (or mall) was literaly across the street. So to sum it up, my favorite memory with my dad is all the times we spent together fixing up my car, which I still drives to this day, we even gave it a name after my mom, Lisa.
