FRUIT OPTIONS

Did you know that we offer two seasonal fruits every day at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes. Our fruit rotates on a bi-weekly basis.  Depending on the month and the season we offer gala apples, oranges, bananas, strawberries, cantaloupe,  watermelon, pineapple and much more.

Is there a fruit you would like to see on our menu? We would love any suggestions.

Sometimes we have red grapes. Did you know that red grapes are a good source of several vitamins. One serving of red grapes offers 16 mg of vitamin C, which is about 27 percent of the daily value, based on a 2,000-calorie diet. It also contains 22 mcg of vitamin K and 0.4 mg of thiamin, which is about 28 percent and 27 percent of the daily value, respectfully. Red grapes also contain small amounts of vitamin E, vitamin A, vitamin K, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, folate, beta carotene and alpha carotene.

Sometimes we serve honeydew and cantaloupe, which are are related fruits. A wedge of honeydew provides more than half the RDA for vitamin C and has about 64 calories and 14 grams of natural fruit sugar.  A similar serving of cantaloupe has about the same number of calories and amount of sugar, plus 120% of the RDA for vitamin A and 108% of the RDA for vitamin C.

And we often serve gala apples. Have you ever grabbed one from the fruit bar and cut it up and added it to your salad at Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes?

  1. You have inspired me with your descriptions of the nutritional aspects of fruit and to walk by the soft-serve to appreciate the fresh fruit.

I’d prefer walking out not stuffed with say a chocolate muffin and a pile of softserve.
