Thanks to Garden Fresh Souplantation and Sweet Tomato restaurant guests, more than $225,000 has been raised for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Now, the goal is to reach the quarter million dollar mark in the last week of the 45-day campaign that began January 15.

St. Jude opened February 4, 1962, and is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Through dedication, they are finding cures and saving children. Their website provides information about the different illnesses, research, and examples of how St. Jude has helped children and their families.

Because of generous donations, families never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food. One of the testimonials from their website:

“Mark underwent surgery and a year of chemotherapy as part of his treatment for bone cancer at St. Jude. “It’s like a miracle. Everything is given to the family here for free without any expectation,” Rita said. Now five years cancer free, Mark returns to St. Jude for regular checkups.”

The St. Jude-Washington University Pediatric Cancer Genome Project is one of the research efforts to discover the origins of childhood cancer and seek new cures by ways of research. Treating and defeating the disease is only one facet of patient care. School teachers are available to help with the studies during treatment. There are specialists to help families cope with the challenges of battling a life-threatening illness and dealing with the emotional effect.

St. Jude offers families exceptional world-class treatment for children and believe in the power of hope and continually work to make St. Jude a place where hope lives.
