September Menu – You’ll Fall for It

Even though fall officially starts on September 22, you’ll be falling early with this month’s recipes!

Avocado BLT Tossed Salad w/ Bacon will be a favorite with the buttery and creamy taste of avocados from Calavo, bacon, Iceberg, Romaine, and Roma tomatoes. Can’t get enough feta from the August menu? We are having it again in the Whole Grain Greek Couscous w/ Feta & Pine Nuts with feta cheese from Tucumcari Mountain Cheese Factory and Back Nine dairy farmer Art Schaap.

Many vegan choices at the salad bar include: Mandarin Udon w/ Almonds & Snow Peas, Sweet Onion & Yukon Gold, Fall Harvest Quinoa Salad, Arugula Citrus, and Bok Choy Citrus Slaw.

The Creamy, Nutty Zucchini & Basil Bisque w/ Basil Pesto Croutons and Seven Vegetable soup are vegan and gluten-friendly choices. Taste the hatch green chile heat in the Fire Roasted Hatch Green Chile & Corn Chowder.

Get meaty with the Spicy Italian Sausage & Peppers Pasta, Pepperoni Focaccia or Chicago Pepperoni & Sausage Focaccia. The Chicago pepperoni and sausage come from Fontanini, a family owned and operated meat manufacturing company for over 50 years in the Chicago area.

Grab a fresh muffin or two of Zucchini Nut Muffin, Gluten-Friendly Maple Nut Muffin, and during dinner try soft-serve with the Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

  1. What nuts are in the Creamy, Nutty Zucchini & Basil Bisque. I love it when you have vegan and vegetarian offerings, but I also have some allergies. Thanks for your help!

    1. Oops! Just read the post again and see that it’s cashews. Good choice for a creamy mouth feel, and I can eat them!
