SOUPLANTATION & SWEET TOMATOES KICKS OFF SWEETIE’S GREAT AMERICAN ROAD TRIP FUNDRAISER

Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes announced today that Sweetie, the official mascot of the restaurant, is  hitting the road! Sweetie will be traveling the country this month in celebration of May’s Great American Road Trip, Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes brand new menu promotion, which highlights menu items from different regions of the country! In each tour city, Sweetie will host a one-night fundraiser where 20% of the day’s sales will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America.  Sweetie’s 12-city trip kicks off on May 3rd where he’ll begin his travels in Florida and make his way back to Souplantation & Sweet Tomatoes corporate headquarters in San Diego.

Sweetie will visit restaurant locations in the following cities:

–          South Florida – May 3

–          West Florida – May 4

–          Orlando – May 6

–          Chicago – May 10

–          Houston – May 11

–          Dallas – May 12

–          Phoenix – May 13

–          Pacific Northwest – May 17

–          Bay Area – May 20

–          Los Angeles – May 24

–          Orange County – May 25

–          San Diego – May 26

“At Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes, we seek to be a vital and contributing part of each community in which we operate,” said Joan Scharff, executive director of brand and menu strategy. “We’re excited to work with Boys & Girls Club of America on this initiative to continue supporting Clubs in local communities, and offer families an extra special night to visit their local restaurant.”

Throughout the road trip, Sweetie will make appearances at selected stores. In addition, coloring activity sheets will be available for the kids all month long. Guests located outside one of the 12 tour stops can still celebrate May’s Great American Road Trip in stores and follow Sweetie online throughout his travels via a map that will show him moving across the country. The blog will experience a full Sweetie takeover and he’ll also be keeping everyone updated through on-the-road tweets. Finally, the American Road Trip menu, Sweetie’s visits to the restaurants, activity sheets  will be available for download all month as well as different American Road Trip themed desktops and screensaver and fundraiser fliers at http://test.www.sweettomatoes.com/roadtrip.

The May menu will feature some guest favorites and some new items, highlighting the different tastes and specialties of America.  Menu items will include:

–          Texas Longhorn Beef Chili Soup

–          French Quarter Praline Muffins

–          Orange Creamsicle Lava Cake

    1. I’ll be in OR on Monday. May 17.
      I’ll be in Clackamas, OR from 12:00- 3:00 p.m. and Vancouver, WA from 5:00- 8:00 p.m.
