GUESTS BECOME CHEFS DURING SOUPLANTATION AND SWEET TOMATOES’ crEATe RECIPE CONTEST

Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes restaurants hosted a culinary challenge to find the best recipe guests can crEATe.  Of the ten finalists chosen, Liz Turk-Setton, 30, from Los Angeles, has been named the winner!  She wowed voters with her Egg n’ Cheese n’ Veggie Biscuit, a creation inspired by her craving for a breakfast sandwich!

During October 2009, guests were invited to submit a recipe and photo of their mouth-watering combinations made entirely from Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes menu items, via the Web site, Facebook or by e-mail.  Ten finalists were chosen, and guests were encouraged to vote for their favorite recipe creation through December.

“Souplantation and Sweet Tomatoes gives guests the freedom to create their own unique meal, choosing from an abundance of high-quality, made-from-scratch salads, soups and baked goods,” said Joan Scharff, executive director of brand and menu strategy.  “We’re excited to share Liz’s recipe in all our stores and hope guests continue to make their own unique creations.”

Liz will receive meal passes for an entire year, and her photo and photo of her recipe will be featured in all 112 Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoes locations nationwide.  Mom to her one-year-old daughter, Margot, Liz and her husband first visited Souplantation after she found out she was pregnant. It became tradition to dine at Souplantation after every doctor appointment, and now it’s even become Margot’s favorite!
